Review by hotel critic
My stay at Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port was a mix of convenience and comfort, leaning towards practicality rather than extravagance. The central location allowed me to explore on foot easily, despite the somewhat unkempt surroundings. The room on the 12th floor was spacious and quiet, with a good view, but not of the port. The option to open windows for fresh air was a plus, although air conditioning was available. The bed was large and cozy, with ample storage space for a short stay. The hotel staff were consistently helpful, and the breakfast offered a decent variety of options. Although the bar and lounge area seemed inviting, I unfortunately didn't have the chance to visit. The overall ambiance of the hotel was more functional than luxurious, with no smoking on-site and practical amenities like Wi-Fi and a fitness center available. For those seeking a well-located, comfortable accommodation without frills, Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port fits the bill, offering a good value proposition for business travelers or short stays.
